To HPPOA Members and Friends

Effective immediately Kaniu Kinimaka-Stocksdale has resigned her Directors position for District #7 and will be assuming the position of General Manger for Hawaiian Paradise Park Owners Association. We look forward to a positive emphasis on communication and member service, as Ms. Stocksdale brings a wealth of experience to the position with a track record of proven performance. Please extend her a warm welcome and the benefit of your support.

When I went to the HPPOA office to get a job description of the position...they didn't have one yet (it was right after the previous manger was fired)...and the office people gave me the telephone number of Kaniu Stocksdale for more information about applying for the position. So to me ....it sounds like a conflict of interest.

Lol macuu222! Is that some sort of innuendo?
There seems to be a history of conflicting interests with Ms. Stocksdale.

Yes......of course there is another conspiracy meant to shake the foundation of the democratic republic, undermine the HPPOA and Western Civilization as we know it.

That should satisfy those who have nothing to do but criticize and create paranoia, but the reality is, someone stepped up the plate and offered a more than reasonable proposal/solution that HPPOA would remise in not accepting.

Aloha,

Jeff

And what is purpose of dredging up stink (which may or may not have been proven) from a newspaper article from 2001? Just because someone said it, or printed it doesn't make it true.

I think it serves us well to have different office staff for the HPPOA and you are already trying to tear things apart before they even get started. By all means be vigilant, but why don't you wait until there is a real issue in the office before you pounce.

What were the goals and objectives established by the BOD in open session for the 2009-10 HPPOA year?
What was the hiring criteria for the GM position?
Who reviewed the applications?
How many applications were received?

Stink has nothing to cling to in an open process.

I don't know Kaniu Stocksdale and can't comment on her character or qualifications, so I won't put out any bait for claims of character assination. I would simply like to point out to Jeff Spaur that the whole arrangement of appointing a sitting board member to the highest paid position in the Association gives the appearance of cronyism. The lady in question may indeed be highly qualified, but it will appear unseemly to many for her to be apppointed in a closed session. We all know that personnel decisions are made in executive session, but in this case that seems to be convenient cover for an inside deal even if it isn't one.

We have been promised transparency, but this whole arrangement seems just a little too cozy. I was raised in Mobile, Alabama, and this reminds me alot of local politics there. Inside deals all the way.

Jeff, can you not see why this looks bad? The nice atmosphere of the current Board may have blinded you to just how this looks from the outside.
