How about writing policies in Zone 1 too? The HPIA has had the only game in town for way too long!

Unlike lava zone 2, in zone 1 HPIA is the only option for premiums under $2,700. I have access to another program in lava zone 1 but minimum premium is $2500 add tax and fees and it will come out to at least $2,700 including hurricane coverage.

Dan, I know this may be a bit difficult, but what would an approx. premium be for a 960 square ft. Castle Block structure in Nanawale?

Dennis, When we get out new program back online it would be $600-800 including hurricane. Otherwise you are looking at around $1,500 for HPIA or Lloyds.

I don't sell insurance, but after HIPA increased my premium 40% last year and presented me with another 30% increase this year, I got into some research. Yes, there are other more reasonably priced fire & liability options for Lava Zone 1 as long as you are OK with not having lava insurance.

John is right about that lava exclusion policy. There is a policy in zone 1 with a lava (indirect and direct cause) exclusion. I don't sell those policies for a few reasons. If you are considering this type of policy and have a mortgage be sure to check with your lender to see if that exclusion is acceptable before purchasing. Those polcies do not refund 25% of your premium if you need to cancel.
