was that question directed at/to me? if so and without going into detail...

renee has been bitten more than once by our dogs while trying to separate the two males who were fighting. we have had them since birth (2001). we won't be getting rid of them any time soon.

This entire thread is about dogs that fight and somehow bite people by accident.
I repeat:
What is the purpose (or point) of keeping any dog that makes a habit of biting people unless the dog was actually defending the owner in a severe situation?

There are way too many good dogs that wouldn't ever fight or bite people. Our beloved 10 year old black lab (whom we left with a good friend on the mainland) is such an example.

no. "this entire thread is not about dogs that fight and somehow bite people by accident." it's only about why they are fighting and finding a solution to the problem. if you try to refer back to the original post, you won't find it. the thread starter deleted and/or edited it.

our dogs don't make a habit of biting people. we love them, brought them with us and will keep them until they die naturally. as long as they are separated, we ALL do just fine.

You said "renee has been bitten more than once by our dogs while trying to separate the two males who were fighting. we have had them since birth (2001). we won't be getting rid of them any time soon."

Third time to ask. I, and some others, I am sure; would really like to know:

What is the purpose (or point) of keeping any dog that makes it a habit of biting people unless the dog was actually defending the owner in a severe situation?

How many times being bit still constitutes an accident?

and i REPEAT that they do NOT make a habit out of biting people. i NEVER said it was an accident. I said that we LOVE them and brought them WITH us unlike you who LEFT your BELOVED dog behind. that is MY answer. this is third response to your question. my first answer was because we raised them since birth. my second and final response was/is because we LOVE them.

if you need to know, "what is the purpose (or point) of keeping any dog that makes it a habit of biting people unless the dog was actually defending the owner in a severe situation?", then start a new thread.

bite me!

If someone wants to keep a dog that bites, that's up to them.
Don't expect any rationality when it comes to pets, how many people
spend thousands to fly their old mutts here when there are plenty
of perfectly good dogs ready to be adopted at the Humane Society?

bite me!

If it wasn't an accidental bite, it must have been on purpose?
Nice dogs.
I am done with this.
You can't answer the question. Are you a politician?

paul, while it is true that some, "people spend thousands to fly their old mutts here..." we did not. they flew from o'ahu to hilo and we paid less than $100 bucks for 3 dogs and 3 cats total. the agent whom we did not know, gave us her employee discount as a christmas present. all of our animals are/were adopted.

mdd:
i can't answer the question? you must have a comprehension problem. and, what a good dog owner you are by leaving yours that you had for 10 years behind. you must have really loved it.

Kani-lehua, I didn't mean you, or anyone! Just in general.

People don't act rationally when it comes to pets but that
of course is up to them. I've seen people with little money
pay for medicine which is literally worth its weight in gold
for their old dog or cat.

agreed. can we end this now? this thread has been hijacked. it was originally about dogs fighting eachother not about biting people.
