Health Insurance for children in Hawaii
#1
Is anyone a semi-expert at health insurance for children? We have a hanai grandson lving with us. We can't just add him to our employer sponsored Kasier health plan.

I did a google search but am getting bogged down.

Different state (FL) and different insurance (Blue Cross), but when I had my cousins stepson, to get him on my insurance, I had to get a legal letter stating that I had full custody of the child signed and notarized by his parents. I think it read that I had full custody while he was in the U.S. I was then able to add him to my plan.

Pam...there is a HMSA Children's plan that cost 71 per month...i have my daughter on it. It covers a lot, but drug plan covers mostly only antibiotics. You get 12 MD visits per year and labs, diagnostics, hopsital, ER visits ($25)...co-pay was 7 but I just was charged 15 for her last visit...rates went up in July.
