Moon was full on the 5th - the high tide late this afternoon is predicted at 1.6 2.5 which is actually fairly small. (the kind tides were earlier in July and June).

I love the fact that ABC just made reference to Felicia....

All they had to say though was she'd be bringing "beneficial rains".

From the NWS

AT 1100 AM HST...2100 UTC...THE TROPICAL STORM WATCH FOR THE BIG
ISLAND HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. A TROPICAL STORM WATCH REMAINS IN
EFFECT FOR OAHU AND FOR ALL OF MAUI COUNTY...WHICH INCLUDES THE
ISLANDS OF MAUI...KAHOOLAWE. ..LANAI.. .AND MOLOKAI. A TROPICAL
STORM WATCH MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE
WITHIN THE WATCH AREA...IN THIS CASE WITHIN THE NEXT 36 HOURS.

Even though Kauai is north of here, the water is generally warmer, making that area more likely to sustain a serious hurricane.
