Just wanted everyone to know that Kalani just posted a message to all on their list that "the violation had been rescinded by the Planning Dept"
So it looks as if this thread can go away for now.

Got this email from Kalani Resort:

From Kalani to you: Mahalo!

We recently wrote to everyone telling of a Hawai`i County Planning Department violation notice and order to stop using the EMAX greenhouse for all activities.

Due to the appeal of the order and all the energy surrounding it, the County Planning Director came to visit Kalani on September 3rd. After spending the day, she and her staff decided to rescind the violation notice.

After getting a good look at what we do here at Kalani, the Department is also looking forward to working with us on bolstering educational eco/ag-tourism!

There are details and issues that need to be worked out over the next few weeks, but we want to reassure everyone right away that there is a renewed spirit of cooperation between Kalani and the Planning Department for the future.

MAHALO to everyone who contributed thoughts, letters and energy to our effort. We loved them, and the Mayor's office definitely noticed them.

In particular, we would like to thank folks who put considerable time into preparing for the (now-canceled!) hearing: Matt Mercury for his video work, Kimo for his chanting, Dottie Keyser (our giftshop manager), Stewart Blackburn (Huna Healing and Seaview neighbor), Kathy Elder (yoga teacher and Kehena neighbor), Barcus and the Agriculture department crew, and our Ecstatic Dance friends Elizabeth, Kristal, and Adrian. Thank you all.
