HPP Robbery- Paradise and 8th on Friday

quote:
When a Vet takes in a new dog or cat they do regularly scan the animal's microchip for ID purposes, or at least they are supposed to.
That hasn't been my experience here, but I only have cats. and I'm pretty sure there's no black market in cats on the island. Dogs are considered valuable, so maybe they do scan them. I suppose a good way to make sure would be to call each of the local vets directly and report the dog stolen.

Speaking of stolen laptop, I just got a new one from Dell. I requested the extended warranty and it happens to come with Lojack protection [Wink]. If it's stolen, you call Lojack and supposedly they locate it via satellite and if they can't they pay you $1000 [Wink].

However, does anyone know if we even have Lojack ability here? [:I][:I][:I]

And then I have speak of the pets. If you love your pet you do it all...vaccinate, flea-tick-mosquito repel, collar with tags, microchip, fenced yard, healthy diet, exercise, attention, training and MUCH love [Wink][Wink][Wink]

Look at it this way, unconditional love without the $50K college tuition tab...[Big Grin]

As far as I understand, Lojack does not operate via satellite, it gives its (approximate) location when the laptop is connected to the internet. But then the police have to be willing to do something about it as well. I thought there was an extra yearly charge for the $1000 compensation.

I hope everyone keeps a lookout for that stolen dog.

Oh...well, what about the Lojack they use for cars? How does that work? There is no charge for the protection with Dell or Lojack with this feature. I was told you do not call police, you call Lojack directly if your laptop is stolen. Not that I expected this feature to be usefull here....hahahahahaha The price you pay to live in paradise [8D][8D][8D][8D][8D]

yes, it would be nice if someone spotted the dog and could bust the stealer-robber that took it.

The thing to do would be to alert all vets with a picture of the dog.

I would love to provide a picture, but they took my camera too. I did call all the vets with the micro chip number. Please everyone be on the look out for a puppy with a half spotted face! Thanks again.

TOTO, call me @ 930-7304 & I can put a free LOST ad in the Trib for you.

We had a neighbor broken into Sat. afternoon on 12th/Kaloli- deadend side. 2 TVs, laptop, etc. Seems they are working the area. Keep an eye out & report anything/ anyone who doesn't belong on your street. Get make, model, license plate, description of passengers. That could help the police alot. Usually when they catch someone, burglaries stop for a while. One group is usually responsible for a string of thefts.

Mary, that is awful. Watch Watch Watch! Keep that cell phone with you and take pictures of any vehicle you do not think belongs on your street!
