Please don’t forget Cinema Paradiso. This is a charming, powerful movie about the transformative nature of film in a young boy’s life. It’s also a touching love story, both romantic love and the close love/connection that a young person can have with a wise elder. I just hear the music and the tears come.

I saw a shortened, sub-titled version of the movie, but I understand that the director’s cut has a lot more detail and substance.
