Emily's tenure as Councilmember
#10
Most of the "accomplishments" listed are smoke and mirrors. Resolutions are "fluff" and do nothing but express an opinion. A resolution might as well say, "We love kittens, puppies, and small children," for all the material effect it will produce. As armchair points out, "working with" some outside agency does not mean any actual results were obtained, although politicians certainly like to imply so.

As for the few concrete items on the list, most were either accomplished by raiding the Puna Geothermal Fund or were (like the skate park) largely accomplished by citizen action rather than by Emily's legislative action. One wonders what will be done if there is a major incident at PGV now that a lot of the emergency fund has been spent.

I would challenge Ms. Geist-Scribben to list three pieces of legislation that Emily Naeole has initiated and passed which have produced material improvement in the Puna district's infrastructure, services, and zoning issues. To use a tired cliche, "Where's the beef?"
