For those of you who remember the hippy daze, there's a wonderful book of photos called Mendocino in the 70's by photographer Nick Wilson. I don't know if Puna was ever like this, but it was a wonderful time for first steps towards getting back to the land. A more hedonistic time than now, more innocent, not cynical. The book has an online widget where you can flip the pages and see it all online. I think it's pretty great, but then I know most of the people so I'm biased. Seriously, these are rare photos of the days when people got a flatbed truck, a generator, made the truck a stage, and set up to boogie in some meadow in the redwoods. Stuff that never made the news like Woodstock did.
