The Coconut festival will serve to dispel the myths around the coconut, how to recognize and protect them from diseases or rot, and further the understanding of the many sustainable uses. This festival will be a forum to meet like minded health seekers, growers, artist, and producers, while having fun. It is called the tree of life in Hawaiian culture and tradition and every part of the plant has purpose, from clothing, shelter, fuel, food and utensils as well as bowls and drums. The coconut is used for sugar, oils, medicines, vinegars, fermented drinks, and electrolytes for hydration. Many ceremonies and rituals also include the coconut.

Also featured and celebrated are the plants Ko, Hala, La i, and Awa and their importance in Hawaii. There will be delicious coconut dishes as well as local foods to tease your taste buds.

A portion of the proceeds will go to support Kahu O Kahiko, promoting the culture and traditions of Hawaii.
