@KeaauRich: I'm sorry to see that Borders is closing, but I'm not surprised. In the past 6 weeks, I've visited 3 times to purchase best sellers and/or books that should be in stock there (like the Culture Shock Hawaii book someone here recommended). Borders never had anything I wanted in stock, but they were up to their eyeballs in discount cookbooks like "1001 Crockpot Meals." So the decision became "do I drive to Hilo and hope they have my book, or do I go online and know I'll have book in hand in a few days with free shipping?"
ME: Yep! That is why I stopped shopping, or rather not shopping, there. Every single book I have searched for this entire year was not available there. However, I have found them at Wal-Mart or CostCo. Since my library is full and I have no more room, I too have gone to digi-reading. Probably not as good for the eyes and harder for someone like me whose memory remembers 'where on a page' and 'where in the document' I read something...flipping pages digitally is somehow less tactile where memory queue is concerned...at least for me. But, Borders was great for a long time. Starbucks will be filled to overflowing with the folks who used to hang out at Border's deli.
