Can a 220v elec motor be changed to 110v

Quite often you can take the plate off the end of the motor or on the side (not sure what sears is doing) but a lot of time there will be several wires and lugs that can be swapped to change from one voltage to another. My woodworking tools all have something similar to that with the wire diagram on the inside of the cover to follow. You may have to find a users group/blog about sears tools to get there input. You might get lucky if you call sears and ask them.
