Not positive, but this seems like the preview is based off of one of the Civil Defense practice sessions a few years ago... there are annual drills utilizing worse case scenarios based on the data from the historical record. The emphasis of the drills is the fact that areas that historically were effected by the impacts of earthquake & volcanic activity were fairly uninhabited, now they have a fairly high population density to account for.
The only thing utilized in the preview that has not happened in recorded time is the 8.2 earthquake, so far the maximum estimated earthquake in recorded time is an estimated 7.9 off of Nalalehu in the late 1800's .
Interesting to note, there are quite a few photos on the preview that may be fairly familiar to many of us, as they are the photos from the damage from the '06 earthquake, along with many from the Royal Gardens & Kalapana lava flows.
