Hawaiian Acres has had some geologically recent lava flows, so there isn't a lot of soil in most of it unless someone has had it hauled in. You might want to look into what sort of soil betel nut trees like because you can usually get cinder soil mixed more or less to order to fit your needs. Of course, you might luck out and find a piece of land for sale that already has had soil put in that would be suitable. Not far away on the other side of Volcano Highway there are areas with deep natural soil.
