Good walking "sandal shoes"

I love my Keens. Thats all I wear in the summer. I have several pairs of sandals and Keen walking shoes as well. They are designed to fit the human foot but are a tad on the ugly side for that reason. The heavy duty closed toe sandal design really protects the tootsies. On the islands you probably have to buy on line such as REI Stores. Best thing is the soles are super durable except don't take them out on the lava (use your crappy worn out boots for that). One big downside if you wear them wet they can tend to rub and give you blisters. If you are doing allot of water hikng I recommend adding short socks to protect against that.
