If you are talking about Pol Pot and Cambodia, that would have happened with or without us. Of course it wasn't moral. It was an atrocity. But we weren't officially in Cambodia. There was never any sanction for us to be there. As a matter of fact, there was no official sanction for us to be in Viet Nam.
Cambodia was not the only nor will it be the last killing field. How does the fact of Pol Pot relieve the lives of American boys and girls killed during Viet Nam and the lives of innocent Vietnamese. The atrocities committed by American soldiers are well documented in history. That war was a direct result of unrealistic Communist paranoia, specifically the Domino Theory which stated that if one country falls to Communism the next one will and so on until we are all Communists. It was also a war supported by American business interests that had nothing to do with our National security. Pretty much the same with every war since. WMDs, not. Oil, yes. Bush and Cheney familys got even richer on that one.
