No Rob, this is very different. Children can't drive. Even if the location has plenty of parking, they insist that people carpool in or take a bus. If they didn't, then the brainwashing wouldn't work as effectively. Would you want to attend an evening where you can't leave when you want and can't make or receive a call? Not because it's impossible or impractical but because the organizers don't want you to? Not me.

I am a big fan of your "Assume the best and ask questions" but when the 20th snake-oil salesman comes into town and you see someone about to buy it, do you stand there and say nothing?

I haven't been to MKP, but I know what they are. It is classic cult and brainwashing tactics.
