I think comparing pot to milk is a bit of a stretch. Pot may indeed have medicinal value, but it has also been shown to cause harm. There are other examples. Certainly nothing is safe in excess, including water, but pot doesn't fall into that ultra benign category. I was initially responding to these types of statements by LeeE:
