While it would indeed be nice for the roads portion of the website to be updated more frequently, a simple phone call to the office would probably suffice. Scott, the GM, has been more than willing to explain in detail the remediation of the Phase III paving problems. I attended the meetings where this was discussed, and he is on top of it. Unfortunately, the minutes of the meetings posted on the website do not do justice to his comprehensive approach to this. They simply refer to the "punch list" without specifying all that entails. Scott has also been quite available to discuss other issues with members.
And then there is the rare and novel concept of interested parties actually attending BOD meetings. (Thank you, Scott.) I know people are busy, have kids, have jobs, and have three bazillion more things to do, but the agenda for each meeting is posted a week in advance on the website with all the topics listed. On top of that, there is Owner Input at every single meeting where any HPPOA member can have three minutes to voice their concerns, gripes, suggestions, or whatever. The BOD and General Manager often even answer questions, although the by-laws don't require it. Both the Board and the GM have a far higher value for member participation than we had previously seen.
Some people would rather complain from afar than take the trouble to even observe, never mind offer some ideas or suggestions. I'm not pointing this out to be accusatory toward any specific individuals because I know that some of the people who post here do attend sometimes. Others, however, are willing to gripe, but not to put in some effort. I used to make detailed reports here on Punaweb about meetings, but I finally realized that I was only enabling the non-participation. Now I just post here on some specific topics and send emails to a few people on the mainland who legitimately can't attend.
Sorry for the rant, but that's how it is from my perspective.
