It depends! When the long shore strike was threatened, I think every sack of rice was off the shelves in hours. When the earthquake of 06 closed Kawaihae harbor, there were fewer items (papergoods, meats, produce & such) that we noticed all over the island for a couple of months, but we didn't noticed stripped shelves...
