Supermarket supply of food on the Big Island?

They tell me Rice and Toilet Tissue are the first to go! We keep an extra supply of each in our pantry. Laugh if you will but it isn't like they will expire. We actually keep a rather well stocked pantry. Hubby and I were talking just today and realize we could get by for four to six months on what is in the pantry and the freezers and it would be made quite easy with the garden, greenhouse and chickens for eggs. That is actually our goal. Just to be able to live six months with what is here no matter what happens. I imagine we would have a few visitors from time to time but we would be fine. A well stocked pantry seems just to be the smart thing to have on a remote island.

If there was one item we would race for I guess it would be flour. I can bake a lot of bread!!
