I like the idea of adults in a free society, doing whatever they want with plants, (as long as their activities don't pose a threat to public health and safety), free from government intrusion or involvement.
Wouldn't that type of approach be an example of what one would expect as a hallmark of a free society, as opposed to an authoritarian or totalitarian regime, where private behavior between consenting adults is criminalized, let alone criminalized for corporate profit?
Personally, I think it will be many years before Hawaii's politicians allow the herb in question to be supplied by shops, like tobacco or alcohol is.
Being more of a drinker, (moderate), I used to sit at the bar at Lucy's in Kailua, watching a conservative (statist) Senator and former legendary surfer, get high on booze regularly. He seemed like a pleasant fellow and certainly enjoyed his regular, drug use. I always found it interesting watching people in power, who support jailing harmless people over much safer cannabis, while getting stoned regularly on a deadly, addictive, socially destructive, neuro-toxic drug.
Beachboy's right about now being a good time to voice opinions and sound out the politicians about this issue.
