do you know how long ago the large lava flow and smaller one in that area took place? The lava flows at Kalapana Seaview and Kamaili were formed in the 1955 flow. This eruption also formed the steam vents on the highway. There was also a smaller eruption at the same time in what is now lower Leilani Estates.
