House Sitting

Oops, sorry about the confusion.
When I rent (haven't started yet, still in Alaska) I won't bother with a house sitter, but when we get our own place, we will. I was just looking ahead to see if having people stay in houses while unoccupied, or having a "caretaker" kind of deal was common, and if anyone had any tips, horror stories, things to do, to not do, that kind of thing.
