I don't know about cheaper, but your right about being off-grid. Vote with your dollars. Don't like HELCO, go off grid. Don't like what the banksters are doing, don't like being slave to a mortgage, build your own house. Don't like what Monsanto is doing, grow your own organic food. Take matters into your own hands.
