Save Papaikou Beach!
#2
Your history is not totally true...

The trail that is currently in use was planned and created, utilizing a bulldozer (permit was obtained), by the current owners....At no time during the operation of the Onomea/Mauna Kea sugar mill was the path that is used today used as a trail. In point of fact, the railroad would have bisected this trail, as it ran into the mill...

The old trail was at the back of the gulch, along the old roadway, prior to the bridging of the creek & the creation of HY19 (no one in their right mind would walk from the camps near the road, across the main railroad & all the way to the mill when the old road had the access path down the base of the gulch & along the river, accept for the small camp that was housed at the mill!)

Also, Baker Toms has closed, so turn by the Solar shop & Pinkys....
