Accident at Hirano's
#25
Ok...lots of questions.

What you would see are all the people trying to use (using) road 17 (Punahele) coming from Fern Forest. The reason I say coming from Fern Forest is because that's what's on the other side of the yellow brick road (as we so lovingly call it). I don't know if people are specifically driving an extra 15 minutes to go through Fern Forest to get to Eden Roc from the highway, but it's possible.

Road 17 is the middle road; the one with the welded gate on it and Huge Rocks and Tons of hunks of Concrete Dams.

The lower road is even worse because people wouldn't want to hang out in, or even drive through, lower Ohia!

The upper road, well that's another story. That is Road 1, Kahikopele and that is paved BY Eden Roc'ers all the way through the access road that Kopua Farms uses to get to S. Kopua road. That road does not belong to us, but we paved it but the County mows it. So, if Fern Forest'ers AND Eden Roc'ers AND Kopua Farmer's were to share the cost to maintain the road...wouldn't that be a doozy!

When I was on the board, I tried to get them to understand that allowing Fern Forest people, ambulance, fire, police and peeps stuck on the highway would be in the best interest of everyone Via Kahikopele. And, that it may prevent a lawsuit in the future if something happens to a Fern Forest'er. That's the road where peeps who are moving or whatever that live in Eden Roc generally dump their crap along with dumping on the old Queen's Path (which is far more shameful than what's happening on 17.

We went through the trash (inadvertantly) because we had to pick it up and dump it anyway. People throw their bills in the same trash they throw in the forest. Both boards have a billing list that anyone has access to. And as far as the appliances, with every new one that shows up, you can see the obvious tire marks.

I tried many times, and I'm not the only one, to get Fern Forest to participate but the sentiment was that they can barely keep up with maintaining their own roads. It costs alot to pave Kahikopele and Ohia from road 17.

Fern Forest has Mandatory road fees, Eden Roc's are all voluntary and we collect more road fees; i'm just saying...hatfield.

It's all been discussed, agreements tried to be made, solutions hashed out; that's what I got from prior board members in Eden Roc and Fern Forest and believe me, I tried to call them all. 50 years later...same situation.

I don't think that people who dump their garbage like it's Forest Food, drive through other people's property, are druggies, thieves, wreckless drivers are "low life scum". I think that they have problems and they think that those are their solutions. I know I took my couch and a few other small bags to the dump and they charged me almost $50. That is the problem.
