jrw: I'm on Palainui near the bottom of the subdivision; no where near 17 and Ohia. I don't drive on Ohia at all.
If you look on the map, there's only 3 roads connecting Fern Forest and Eden Roc. Those roads were in place before I moved here...lol. I'm only looking at the possibilities; roads that are already in place, that pass through both subdivisions.
Hmmm....Daniel...no easy answer. Must be what the Czech Rep. and Slovakia feel like.
edited to add: I personally advocated for Eden Roc and Fern Forest to have the County state in writing something about road 17 the year the Highway was closed because of downed trees and people had to go to the emergency shelter.
They wouldn't put in writing anything about the road; whether it could be blocked by Eden Roc, whether it must remain accessible. The would say "these are private roads, with public access". Well, why does the subdivision by the lighthouse have a gate to lock people out of the "public access" part of their private road? and the beat goes on...
I know I can drive through Hawaiian Acres from Highway 11 and end up on19 130, all on a County paved road. I'd imagine enough people got together and advocated for it. But I couldn't get enough people from Eden Roc, Fern Forest and surrounding areas to advocate for those "converging" roads from Fern Forest to Eden Roc AND from Eden Roc through Kopua Farms, through Fern Acres, through Hawaiian Acres, up to Ainaloa to Highway 19 130. This should be a new topic.
