Their last day was today.
The story (told me by employees) is that the owners (after John sold it) were from WA. Long's offered the owners a nice price and they sold to Long's. Even records etc being transferred to Pahoa Long's.
Although it kind of is sad because the service at Puna Pharmacy was so outstanding and I havent experienced service that good at Long's, it is what it is.
It wasnt because of the lava flow. It was merely business to two groups that have little stake in Puna. (by that I mean obviously Long;s/CVS is HQ'd in RI.) I also understand the WA group is not living here either.
