The homicide rate for the world is ~7/100K, US ~5/100K & Hawaii state ~3/100K - so not really sure why our county "should" have a 10/100K homicide rate...

Of course there are regions & cities that have higher rates, but normally rural areas like Hawaii county have lower rates than larger cities.... and the county of Oahu has a mode of 19 homicides....total...so you would think that Hawaii county could get a few less murders than their ~2.5/100K rate... but that has not happened. This county, for what ever reason, has a consistently higher rate...
