There's now so many laws that not one single person or entity - government or otherwise - even claims to know them all. I don't know about you but that's not the kind of world I want my children to grow up in. I think Kalakoa hit the nail on the head in another post ...
I think it's a huge waste of resources to worry about plastic bags as our civil liberties are eroding around us and we start unprovoked (aggressor) wars all over the world. We've been at war for 10+ years now (the longest in the entire history of our once great nation) and what are we talking about ? Roundabouts and plastic bags. It's time for an intellectual awakening or soon enough we'll all be in chains.

The obvious problem being that which "some" will change whenever different people are elected, or enough "lobbying" occurs, or as a knee-jerk reaction to the latest tragedy.
