It really depends on your job skills.... but remember, if you have a skill that many others do, and there is a list of local & off island applicants....wellll you are an unknown....
It is hard to imagine HOW small this island is...until you start realizing how many times & haw many different occasions you see people you know...& then realize that kids growing up here that are involved in any type of activity most likely were involved in that activity with kids from all around the island.... and their folks were then involved... & you start realizing how interconnected these relations are... and can start to appreciate that some one who grew up here is a KNOWN, they are here, their past is known, there family is known... and most likely they will not leave in a year or two....
Some one moving onto the island....nothing is known...
That said, if you have a skill that is needed, then it is up to you to earn respect... which varies by job & location - helping, being a part of the group & sharing are hallmarks to strive for...
