Thanx for your input. No I have never spent a 'night' at Volcano, just day time visits (all in the winter). As mentioned earlier, I really dislike the heat, I have found that my optimal operating temperatures are between 48-70 degrees. I have always found it easier to warm up than cool down!
Yes my visits to Volcano have conjured up the thought, 'am I still in Hawaii?' I guess I am trying to choose between it and Leilani Estates, and yes I know, BIG difference. Would like to grow tropical fruit, and flowers ..... Don't like heat and mosquitos! What to do...

You may have been to Puna many times, but have you spent many nights in Volcano, especially in the winter? In January its common for temperatures to fall into the 40's during the early morning. Temperatures in the 30's have occurred. People actually heat their homes and wear sweaters and jackets!
Are you sure this is the "Hawaii" experience you have in mind?
