To those who are interested in the welfare of our animals in Hawaii and especially in this county, there is a new group that has formed called HAWC (Hawaii Animal Welfare Coalition). The main goal for this group is to help push forward legislation at the county level to put a ban on backyard breeding (multiple states have this and it has reduced the number of dogs and cats significantly) and legislation for the humane treatment of animals here on the island. Hawaii is top 3 worst in the country. If anyone is interested feel free to send me a private message. I understand this is out of place, but seemed like an opportunity to get those interested involved.
