Handymen/repair people don't care...?

I'm well acquainted with the slower pace of life here in the Islands and realize that you don't get home repairs and remodels done at "Mainland" speed, and I'm fine with that. But what's with folks who advertise their services (online or otherwise) and then don't even bother to return phone phone calls or emails?! Or, they promise to come out at a specific date/time and don't ever show up (nor call to reschedule). I've been a business owner for more years than I've worked for others, so maybe my standards are different than some, but sheeesh, if you say you're going to do something ... then, you do it! Pretty simple concept, no?!

On that note, if any of you have recommendations for well-established, reliable handyman/remodel/appliance businesses, I'm all ears!
