GMO like anything else has has upsides and downsides - its kind of cool that papaya culture on the islands can continue because a variety resistant to ring spot virus was developed
I am not so sure that I feel the same way about a corn variety that makes round up in its roots
Even less thrilled about a group of investors owning the patent on the worlds major potential food supply
Most of all, mono crops, scare the pants off me - relying on one or two varieties of GMO wheat will end up as a global nightmare if mother nature offers up a blight or insect that can take advantage of GMO wheat's lack of wild DNA or lack of genetic diversity
edit = sticky "o" "n" and "b" keys ....its always something
