No, not really. Not all tinkering with genes is GMO, despite what the anti-GMO activists would like you to think. I think this, from Wikipedia, states the case clearly:

The U of Fla patent clearly states it is about the induction of polyploidy, and none of the SuperBud varieties being grown and sold across the globe today seem to have any RNA manipulation in their genealogy.
When I was in what is now called Middle School, I remember other kids doing experiments about the effect of X-rays or Gamma Rays or radioactivity on marigolds and bean plants. Was it genetic manipulation? Yes. Was it GMO? No.
Why is it, I ask you, that there just isn't ever any integrity in what anti-GMO folks say about anything? Doesn't that bother anyone besides me?
