quote:A pesticide can be very specific, It can kill only insects and not mammals, or even a specific category or type of insect. Humans eat many types of foods that are lethal to other creatures. People love chocolate, but it kills dogs.

Why does anyone need tests to tell you to not eat pesticides ?
Have you ever heard of a LD 50 test? It determines how much of a substance will kill (lethal dose) 50% of a given population. Even in a group of rats, only part of a population may be affected by a substance.
Look at specific humans. Keith Richards for instance, seems to have the ability to ingest anything with minimal effects.
