$800,000 pilot program under fire...good
#17
I wish people would remember that sex ed is not just about birth control and disease control for hormone driven teens, is a big part of lifelong human health, because it covers topics that are important all through our adult lives: testicular cancer, breast cancer, uterine cancer, cancer of the ovaries, infectious disease, healthy conception, pregnancy and gestation, fertility and infertility issues, hormonal and endrocrine disorders are all also covered.

Sexual health should just be part of a comprehensive health education for all people because effective education on these issues is important if we are to have happy and healthy families here in our community. Many parents are unwilling, unavailable, or too uneducated to provide their children with the comprehensive education they need. People who want to do this at home are free to opt out of any public school sex education curriculum, but they shouldn't cut off those children whose parents aren't taking that responsibility from access to this information.
If you want some hard data on what is actually happening look here:

Clearly a lot of people aren't getting the message at home or school on how to control fertility or infectious diseases.
