Project aims to collect feedback about Mauna Kea’s future
In today's Trib is an article announcing a project, being led by Susan Maddox and Friends of the Future that according to the Trip:
"will set out to document residents’ vision for the mountain [Mauna Kea] as far out as 100 years through a series of meetings around the island."
and further it is reported:
Maddox said she hopes to have the process finished in a year, but there is yet no timeline for when the work will get started.
There might be eight to 10 listening sessions around the island, she said.
“The process is really unfolding,” Maddox said.

I know Susan and Friends of the Future and their work that goes back more than 20 years on the island, and couldn't think of a better person to head up such an effort. Even today she is instrumental in helping members of many community initiatives understand and work with the intricacies of government and the different funding sources and all their bureaucracies. I look forward to this being a great program to collect everyones mana`o and hope everyone on all sides of this issue support Susan by participating in her effort to collect and present our many and varied thoughts.
