This is new to me: Police/prostitute sex okay
#23
Now, now. This does aid in enforcement. When the prostitute says "You're not a cop, are you?", the cop can take actions that might put the prostitute more at ease in that regard. Then out comes the badge. He might have to walk across the room to get it. Perhaps the badge is pinned to the backside of his boxer briefs. Tattooed on?

I am sure I am in the minority but I have no problem with cops having sex with prostitutes consistent with their guidelines to make the arreat. I don't regard the ability to have sex with prostitutes as much of a job benefit. I mean, ya know, medical, dental, retirement and the ability to consort with skanky whores? I would love to read the guidelines!

I agree with kalakoa that where you have a problem that involves alcohol or drug abuse the focus should be on treatment. Treatment of alcohol and drug abuse would go along way toward reducing crime rates, including prostitution. I don't know why there is such a lack of local focus on treatment of alcohol and drug abuse. It's just book 'em Dano -- and that just makes the life of the person who needs treatment even more depressing and the cycle continues....
