Lately, I've been seeing more Asian tourists around. Some are downright rude, while others seem to be genuinely courteous, as I've had some refuse to make way on the sidewalk in Hilo, while others responded nicely to a polite "pardon me."
Another Asian couple was confused about fuel at the gas station and were dismayed that the green (diesel) fuel nozzle wouldn't fit in their rental car's fuel filler receptacle. I pointed out the differences in octane etc, and they were grateful for the tip even though we didn't understand each other's words.
