Alexander Palms
#4
I have about 30 of them, all I got FREE on side of the old Hwy (4 mile scenic road past Onomea Bay), or near Kolekole/Hakalau Park area, up north of Hilo... all from the drainage area within a couple feet of rd... they are one of only a couple palms that have naturalized here and are very invasive palms if you ignore them and let them reseed ie the worst spot... if you walk down the old Donkey Trail right next to that Botanical Garden in Onomea Bay... thousands and thousands of them of all sizes!!! ...in and around this bay and most of the ravines north of Hilo and up Hamakua. I have transplanted pulled out palms over 6' tall but the easiest are the ones in the 2' tall range, especially with good undisturbed roots after pulled from the muck in the cement drainage ditches next to road ('old hwy' between Kolekole and Hakalau Bay area)... they like rain

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha
