BBQ wood
#9
I've had a fireplace here in my Nanawale home since the mid-1980s. I find dry guava wood the absolute best BBQ/firewood of all, as it is smaller than many ohia logs, burns very hot and leaves a small amount of pure white ash. Ohia and kiawe (mesquite) are also food-safe and good for indoor fireplaces. I won't burn anything else in my fireplace as eucalyptus, albisia, etc. create too much effluent (the proper word for this escapes me....getting old sucks!) in my 10-foot chimney.
