"no proven harm" is a "dodge?" Well you couldn't have made more clear the futility of trying to argue with anti-GMO or other anti-science people. It's only a dodge because you're unwilling to integrate facts into your way of thinking. 2 years ago I was anti-GMO and pro-labeling. I made a concerted effort to apply scientific reasoning as I would in my former career in behavioral science. It didn't take much reading from non-conspiracy theory sites to get to the scientific consensus on the issue. Turned out I was wrong and I found little reason to be concerned about GMO foods vs. many other pressing environmental and food-related issues in this world. If presentation of facts is a "dodge" because they don't confirm what you already think, then there is no reason to bother presenting facts to you.
