Royall, I live on the Hilo side of your street and have the Hoary Bats on or near our property going back to 98. Though it is an invasive plant I've read that the bats may be attracted to the Heliconia plant. The previous property owner had choke Heliconia on the property to which I've tried to remove but, I am always finding new shoots from time to time. Though now with all the clear cut grubbing of new homes in our area through the years I have noticed a significant drop in sightings.
