Intolerance experience today

I am 66, my wife is 60. We spent our lives on Oahu and Maui before settling in Puna. We have both noticed more kids (and adults, too) with pretty obvious mental handicaps out and enjoying life here than on Oahu. Uncle Roberts, Malama Market, Maku'u Farmers Market, we love the aloha here that accepts almost everyone. Today at Maku'u there was a young lady about 12 years old with her family. They all looked quite nice but one was especially well dressed and groomed beautifully, their Down's Syndrome 12 year old daughter. I am sorry your experience was so negative. The jerks will be forever with us but I feel Puna is a way better place than most for folks such as your son.
