What street do you live on? Unless you are on the highway (in which case you do not have to pay road fees) you must come up a paved road--so you got something for your fees. Fees are low, but if your road is real bad you can ask for free material to be dropped off--then you and your neighbors can fill pot holes.
Not that things could not be better, but I object when people claim no work has ever been done.
