I love the adopt-a-pothole idea! This kind of creative thinking and community involvement is just what we need.
How much of Road 1 is actually paved? 3 or 4 miles--doesn't the pavement stop before E? Out of all the roads in the entire subdivision, those 3 or 4 miles are sure getting a lot of attention.
If you charged folks living on Road 1 more, would you charge folks on county-maintained Road 8 less? And I live on the unpaved end of Road 1, does that mean I only have to pay half as much more than people on the paved end?
What we really need is toll boxes; use the road, pay a fee right then and there. Shouldn't cost more than several million dollars to get that going...
Makes adopt-a-pothole might look even more elegant!
